A simple hello or a quick smile could change someones whole life. Don't be afraid to be that change.
Thank you for stopping by my profile here on Hubpages. I am sure that you have better things that you could be doing with your time, and yet, you are here. So, I truly am honored.
My name is Christina, but you can call me Christina. Not Chris, or Tina, or Ed, but Christina. I make my home with my husband and two small boys in a beautiful part of New York state. We have two dogs, two cats, and a crayfish.
In 2006, my whole life changed when I became the mother of a deaf child. Although the news was shocking at first and hard to handle at times, with the help of family and friends, I am finally at a place of understanding, forgiveness, and peace. My husband and I have been busy learning American Sign Language so that we can help him with communication.
I have spent many years working with adults that have developmental disabilities. I am the advocate for a gentleman that have severe developmental disabilities. Our relationship has been one of constant joy and happiness if my life, no matter what I am facing.
In less than a year I will have my BS degree in Psychology. I attend an online university and this allows me the chance to further my education and still be home with my family. I was never the sit-still in the classroom type anyway. I am facinated with the human mind and the different ways that people think, act, and feel.
Here are some of the Hubs I have written about the Human Mind:
Worrying About Worry: A Look At Generalized Anxiety Disorder
I started writing long ago, telling my childhood secrets to my diary. Writing let me escape to a place that was all my own and were I made the rules. As I approach 30, I find that I enjoy writing more than before and have found a wonderful place, here at Hubpages, to share my work. You can sign-up and share your writing with others too...it's really easy to do.
I have begun to share my poetry, which up until now, I have kept to myself.
My Fumbling Hands-A Poem About Learning Sign Language
I use a couple of different websites to gain exposure to my hubs. If you would like to do the same, you can sign up with:
